THE BRIEF
Knead sought a Christmas packaging system that would feel festive while remaining true to the brand’s refined sensibility. Designed for the bakery’s seasonal range, the packaging needed to elevate Christmas gifting while functioning practically in a busy neighbourhood café environment. The aim was to create festive bakery packaging that felt premium and quietly celebratory rather than overtly decorative.
APPROACH
The packaging draws on a muted and refined colour palette, chosen to evoke the atmosphere of Christmas in a subtle, understated way. Typography becomes the primary graphic device, applied boldly yet with a delicate sensibility around the exterior of the boxes. When stacked together, the typographic elements align across the packaging, creating a cohesive graphic rhythm. The graphic language was designed as a flexible system for Knead’s seasonal offerings, allowing different products to sit comfortably within a consistent visual structure.
OUTCOME
A series of bespoke packaging structures were developed to suit the bakery’s festive range, balancing practicality with a gift-like presence. The system allows the packaging to work both individually and when stacked together in store, reinforcing the typographic composition across the boxes. The result is Christmas bakery packaging that feels refined, adaptable and unmistakably Knead.
